Cherish

Being a mom is so great. I love spending time with my sweet Emma Jane. I was talking to another mom the other day and she kept saying in different ways "Life was so different before... (her child)" "We traveled so much more" Kinda went on and on about life. She made it sound really lame now. It made me look back on life before Emma. Yes, we went on a lot more dates. Yes, we could hangout with people until midnight. And yes we got to sleep in until 10 am. I cherish all those moments I had with my husband and friends. But once you become a parent life does change. For me it was for the better. (maybe not at a 3am feeding) It has taught me how to be patient, how to change a diaper within seconds(funny story for another time about this) To slow down and how to love even more. So many other lessons in life as well. I think as parents we get "stuck" in the past of BEFORE our kids. Cherish the past, but even more cherish the moments with your kids!

Couldn't have said it better! My life changed completely when I became a mom and I wouldn't imagine it any different! The memories that I make with my husband and daughter are priceless!

i especially like the thought that having a kid makes us slow down...that is something that has stuck out the most to me lately. luke has the most fun, and i seem to have the best days, when we aren't out running a million errands, but we lounge around the pool or read books or something mellow. i love it.

well said! i used to get so tired of all the eye rolls moms at gymboree used to give me when i was pregnant. and if i would tell them how excited i was i hated hearing the inevitable, "oh, just wait until (fill in the blank)" I wanted to say, "Look, I'm sorry your miserable, but don't put that on me Ricky Bobby!" I LOVE being a mom! Love you too and can't wait to see you!

You are so right! Being a Mom is the greatest. My only talent has been having 5 babies. lol. 14-1. Every stage is challenging and fun. I love spending time with my older girls, and listening their silliness. I love hearing any of them ask and/or talk about our Saviour. God has taught me more than I could ever teach them.
